5 Years

I had to throw this pic. in. I think it's the funniest picture of the two of us!

Five years ago today we were getting married. Sam has been at home this week to help me get ready for Farm Chicks. I love working with him. We have been having fun getting full of paint and spending time together. We might do something fun tomorrow (if we get all of our homework done) 5 years have flown by, we've been all over the place experiencing many things. We are probably going to do something to celebrate after this show is over. I love you Sam!

A New Wardrobe

I haven't shopped for new clothes in quite awhile, but I think there will be no getting around it now. I'm dreaming of wearing these cute maxi maternity dresses all summer long. I'm afraid that they'll be too short for me. I'm thinking I may have to try making one myself with some pretty Anna Marie Horner fabric. I have always been fearful of sewing clothes, afraid they would look homemade (versus handmade and cute). The idea of sewing maternity clothes could have disaster written all over it. We'll see. I've been frustrated before by things never fitting, and when reviews say, "I'm 5'7" and it fit perfectly, or I'm 5'9", I'm guessing for this 6'1" giant + a belly it won't fit perfectly. Look at me I'm already complaining and I don't even know if this will be a problem! If you see any cute maternity clothes, send them my way!

The Map

Good news. I have the map so you can check out where all of your favorite vendors will be ahead of time. I'm so excited about my location. I am number 127. The blue arrow points to my location in Bay One. Click on the image to zoom in, you can click twice to make it very large. I'm going to be neighbors with Retreat. You might remember them last year, they had the big piano bar covered in sheet music. It's going to be fun! You can download and print your own map here.

A Few Sneak Peaks

The Farm Chicks show is fast approaching! 2 weeks away! There are projects galore around here that I'm trying to finish up. I'm such a procrastinator and seem to work the best with pressure. I thought I'd give you a little sneak peak at a few things that will be at the show.

I just love this pretty oilcloth. A little elbow grease and pretty oilcloth go a long way!

A fun little step stool

Do I keep the high chair or sell it? I'm still debating on that one!

Our Exciting News

Ok, time to get back on the blogging bandwagon. I think it's time to share, most people probably already know this, but Sam and I are having a baby! Yes, pretty exciting! The baby is due at the end of November. I'm right around 12 weeks right now. We got to hear the little heartbeat last week. That was exciting and made it seem more real. I've been doing pretty good. My energy levels were so low, but I think it's getting better now. We are seeing a midwife and planning on giving birth at a birthing center called Dayspring. We are really impressed with their knowledge and professionalism. There are many reasons why we chose to go with a midwife versus a hospital. I don't think hospitals are bad. I just think that women have been having babies for a long time and their bodies know what to do. Doctors specialize in medicine and high risk birth. Since I am low risk I want to go with someone who fully supports and encourages the decision of doing things the natural way. One reason is that the US has one of the highest infant mortality death rates in developed countries. I think this is because in the US they tend to push for C-Sections. We also watched The Business of Being Born, which I would recommend to anyone who is pregnant. There is a lot of good information on this post. I could go on and on about this! I just think it's good to inform people because I think most people don't fully understand all of the great things about a midwife.

We plan on not finding out the sex of the baby. We think it will be fun for it to be a surprise. I'll share a picture soon, although not much to really report right now. You can't really tell that I'm pregnant. I love learning about all the natural birth stuff, I've been drinking raspberry tea, doing some yoga and trying to get enough protein in my diet. I'm thinking of trying floradix, has anyone heard of this? It's supposed to give you more energy it's an herbal supplement with iron. I'll have to ask the midwife.

It's been so long since I've been on here. A lot has been going on. We'll see if I play catch up.
