Trying New Things

We had some time to kill between a few appointments I was taking some women to, so we went to the Asian market. They insisted on buying me some things. It has been a long time since I've tried so many new foods. I don't have a picture of what I ate for lunch. I can only describe it as an asian version of the breakfast burrito. It was a round ball of dough with a hard boiled egg in the middle and some sausage and a few other things in the middle. It was pretty good. Here is a pile of the things they gave me. The rice crackers the owners of the market threw in for free. Over on the bottom right are asian pears I think. They have a very crisp taste. Almost like an apple, but not as sweet.
This is Rambutan. If you ever get the chance to eat these I highly recommend it. They are so good. They spoiled me with these. They're not very cheap. They got a little dark by the time I took this picture, the outside is a really pretty pinkish color. The fruit itself has the consistency of an eyeball- it's so sweet and good. And there is a seed in the middle.
Here Sam is getting the coconut milk out. Apparently this is good for you when you're pregnant. It tasted pretty good. I think Sam had to pound a nail in it to get it open.
Here are some mochi. They have cute packaging don't they? They are made from a bean paste. They aren't bad, not my favorite either. They are a little bland. They each have a different flavor with a different surprise in the middle.

I don't know if I would consider anything 'sweet and good' that had the consistency of an eyeball!! :)
