Choppin' Down the Tree

Sam and I have a little tradition of going to the National Forest to cut down a tree.  We always have a great time doing it.  Unfortunately, we usually end up with a Charlie Brown tree!  This year we found a great tree.  You can see in the pictures, it did have one dead branch that needed to be cut off.  We headed north to Priest Lake to get it.

This weekend was great.  Sam and TJ are starting up a youth group.  9 kids came to our place Friday night to play Wii, Ping Pong, Pass the Pigs, and Trouble.  We stayed up late talking to our friends, which wasn't conducive to waking early to cut a tree.  This is why it is so dark by the time we looked for our tree.  Saturday night we went to a Chief's hockey game with Katie and Rusty.  It was a lot of fun.  Everyone brought a stuffed animal to donate, and when the Chief's made their first goal everyone threw the animals on the ice.

On Sunday we went to The Campbell House with Sam's parents.  It is a fabulous  old restored house made into a museum.  It was decorated for Christmas and they were having a Wassail party.  Then we came home decorated our tree, then we headed to the White Elephant bingo Christmas church party.

Last night we had our friends Andrea and TJ over for dinner and we're starting up a bible study.  I'm so thankful that they're here and I'm so excited that God brought them here.

We're having a great activity packed December, next weekend will be just as busy.  I hope you're all doing well and enjoying the season!

You can chop down trees at random in the national forest? Seems like you might get in trouble for that.
